Our Story

Galley Tables is a live storytelling event that was founded in 2013 by Astrid Rose, Thandeka Lacey, and Brianna Cooper. The trio of women were inspired by storytelling initiatives that they had attended around the state of Alaska and saw an opportunity to create something special in Kodiak.

Over the years the Galley Tables family has grown well beyond its founding three and now includes almost a dozen dedicated community members.

Our mission is to bring people together through the power of stories. We believe that everyone has a unique voice and that sharing our experiences fosters connection and understanding. Each event is a celebration of our community's rich tapestry, showcasing local talent and diverse perspectives.
